What’s Changed with Functional Skills for Apprentices Aged 19+?
The latest apprenticeship policy change now allows employers to opt to proceed without Functional Skills assessments for apprentices aged 19 and over – provided that the decision is mutually agreed upon. This policy change presents an opportunity to tailor apprenticeship programmes more closely to the needs of both the employer and the apprentice.
New Features in ACE360: Simplifying the Process
To make the process as smooth as possible, we’ve added two important features to ACE360:
- A Declaration to Confirm the Employer’s Decision Employers can now formally confirm their decision to opt out of Functional Skills assessments directly within ACE360. This declaration ensures that all necessary decisions are documented clearly and transparently.
- A Requirement to Upload Supporting Information To maintain compliance with apprenticeship guidelines, employers will now be prompted to upload supporting information that justifies the decision to bypass Functional Skills assessments. This step helps ensure that the process aligns with the new policy while maintaining necessary records.
These updates ensure that ACE360 remains a comprehensive, user-friendly EPA platform, accommodating the evolving needs of the apprenticeship sector.
