How ACE360 Is Simplifying IQA for Assessment Organisations

IQA is a fundamental part of delivering high-quality apprenticeship assessment. It ensures that assessment decisions are consistent, standards are maintained, and organisations can clearly demonstrate the integrity of their processes.

However, for many Assessment Organisations, managing IQA is often far more complicated than it needs to be! IQA activity is often managed across multiple systems or documents. This makes it difficult to maintain a clear and consistent overview of quality activity across all assessment activity, and to drill down into specific standards or assessor performance over time.

The new IQA suite of tools within ACE360 Premium has been developed to completely streamline this process by allowing organisations to manage all their quality related activity directly within ACE360.

Bringing IQA activity into one place

A common challenge for Assessment Organisations is maintaining a clear picture of quality activity across different standards. Sampling activity, assessor reviews and quality feedback are often recorded in spreadsheets or separate tracking tools, which can make it difficult for quality teams to keep track of everything in one place.

The new IQA functionality in ACE360 allows organisations to bring this activity into a single system. IQA teams can record feedback, manage reviews and monitor quality activity alongside their assessment delivery, helping reduce administrative duplication and ensuring that quality performance sits alongside the assessments it relates to.

    Clearer oversight of assessor performance

Understanding how assessors are performing across programmes is an important part of managing quality. Within ACE360, IQA teams can now RAG rate assessor performance, helping organisations to quickly identify where performance is strong and where additional sampling or support may be required. This gives quality leads a clearer view of assessor performance over time, and allows them to focus their attention where it is most needed.

Managing sampling in a structured way

Sampling is a key part of the IQA process, but maintaining consistent sampling ratios can sometimes be difficult when this information is managed outside the main assessment system. ACE360 allows Super Admin users to define sampling ratios within the platform, helping organisations apply a more structured approach to how assessor work is reviewed. This supports consistency across programmes and provides a clearer overview of sampling activity across the organisation.

    Capturing feedback within the platform

Assessor IQA feedback plays an essential role in ensuring that assessors know where their practice is strong and areas for improvement.  Assessor CPD and standardisation is integral to maintaining and improving compliance over time.  Assessors can see their performance over time from within ACE360, making the expected standard clear, and ensuring each assessor knows what they need to do to maintain and grow their professional standards.

The new IQA functionality within ACE360 allows feedback to be captured directly within ACE360, ensuring that review notes and decisions sit alongside the relevant assessment activity. This makes it easier for teams to review previous feedback and monitor how assessor performance develops over time.

Supporting quality reviews and assessment decisions

Often quality processes sit outside of core assessment activity, where an IQA activity identifies non-compliance that leads to an adjustment in the assessment outcome, ACE360 IQA users have full control to record their findings with supporting evidence.  They can also make an amendment to the assessment decisions against the relevant apprentice record.  This process, decisions and resulting actions are all recorded automatically within ACE360.  This saves considerable time and ensures any future compliance audits by Ofqual or Office for Students are transparent with all evidence, assessment and IQA decisions in one place.

Clear processes with ACE360, delegated responsibility and automatic audit trail ensure efficiency while quality is maintained and improved over time.

    Looking ahead in 2026

The new IQA functionality within ACE360 Premium has been developed in collaboration with organisations already using the platform and has been piloted in real delivery environments.

Development will continue later in 2026 as the sector prepares for the new Ofqual regulatory framework for apprenticeship assessment expected in Spring 2026, ensuring ACE360 continues to evolve alongside regulatory change.
